Safety, Harm Reduction & Policies
People over everything. If you or someone around you needs support, reach out to a crew member, visit a resource space, or call the SOS line. We're here to look out for one another.
Where can I find safety and harm reduction support?
Several teams and resource spaces are available throughout the festival:
- ANKORS: Harm reduction, substance testing services, safer-use supplies, safer-sex supplies, information, resources, and workshops. Staffed daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 AM.
- Sanctuary: A quiet, supportive space open 24 hours a day to rest, reflect, or talk with staff about emotional and mental well-being.
- Hidden Ridge and Raven's Nest Outposts: Places to connect with festival crew and access support.
- Outreach Crew: Outreach support away from downtown, operating from 2:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Medical team: Ready to assist with health emergencies.
Look for purple shirts to identify Outreach and Sanctuary staff. Medical team members wear red shirts.
If you need immediate help, call the SOS line at 778-949-1010. This is a call-only number. You can also find a crew member or visit one of the resource spaces.
Is substance testing available?
ANKORS offers fentanyl testing, spectrometer services for substance testing, safer-use supplies, safer-sex supplies, information, and harm reduction education.
Check in with the harm reduction team if you have questions about substances, interactions, or safer practices. Do not assume a substance is safe based on its appearance or what someone tells you about it.
What should I do if someone needs help?
Stay with the person if it is safe to do so, and get help from a crew member, medical team member, or appropriate festival resource space. For urgent assistance, call the SOS line at 778-949-1010.
Share the person's location and describe what is happening as clearly as possible. Don't hesitate to ask for help. Looking out for one another is everyone's responsibility.
What are the fire safety rules?
Fire awareness is everyone's responsibility. Conditions in the Woods can change quickly, and every attendee has a role in protecting the festival site and surrounding communities.
Fire prevention and campsite safety
- Propane fire pits, propane heaters, candles, incense, mosquito coils, and fuel-powered generators are not permitted.
- Use approved electric, battery-powered, or solar equipment instead.
- Keep camp stoves and barbecues on stable, non-combustible surfaces, well away from tents, vehicles, campers, vegetation, and other flammable materials.
- Never leave cooking equipment unattended while in use.
- Turn off cooking equipment fully after use and allow it to cool before storing it.
- Avoid idling or running vehicles while parked at your campsite. Engines and exhaust systems can heat dry grass and vegetation beneath a vehicle.
- Keep batteries away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, and combustible materials.
- Keep water or an appropriate fire extinguisher readily available.
- Use an ashtray or pocket ashtray. Never discard cigarette butts, matches, or smoking materials on the ground.
- Maintain adequate lighting around your campsite at night.
- Keep roadways, emergency routes, and access lanes clear at all times.
- Follow all posted fire restrictions and instructions from festival staff.
- Regularly inspect your campsite for combustible materials and other fire hazards.
- Know the location of your nearest Rally Point and the safest route to reach it.
If you see or smell smoke or fire
Move to a safe location and report it immediately. Never assume someone else has reported a fire. Provide the exact location, nearby landmarks, and any known hazards.
Fire awareness is everyone's responsibility. Your actions help protect you, your friends, local communities, and the Woods.
Why are glass containers prohibited?
We know your pickles are important, but yes, even your pickles need to leave their regular glass jars at home. Glass containers of any kind are not permitted at Wicked Woods.
The land we're gathering on is precious, ancient land, and we're responsible for treating it with care. Broken glass is a serious hazard to your fellow ravers, especially when people are dancing, walking barefoot around campsites, or moving through the grounds after dark.
Glass also breaks into tiny, sharp pieces that are incredibly difficult to find and clean up completely. Even a thorough cleanup can leave dangerous fragments behind long after the event.
Please transfer your food, drinks, sauces, and pickles into reusable or non-glass containers before you arrive. Help us look after the land and each other.
Can I bring a drone or fly an aircraft at Wicked Woods?
No. Personal drones and unauthorized aircraft are strictly prohibited. Wicked Woods is located between two airports, and the airspace above the festival is heavily restricted.
Our designated drone team is the only team authorized to conduct drone flights for the festival. Our pilots are certified, and the team has applied for and paid for the special permits required for its authorized operations.
Unauthorized flights can create serious safety risks and jeopardize the festival's ability to obtain permission for future aerial operations. Unidentified or unauthorized aircraft may be seized, and those responsible risk removal from the festival site.
Please leave your drone at home. Our authorized team will handle the aerial footage, and we ask everyone to respect these restrictions so we can continue operating safely and responsibly.
What items are prohibited at Wicked Woods?
To help keep everyone safe and protect the land, the following items and activities are prohibited:
- Weapons of any kind.
- Axes and machinery or other items that could be used as weapons.
- Blades longer than 4 inches.
- Fireworks and other pyrotechnics.

If you're unsure whether an item is permitted, check the official planning information before packing. Visit the Safety Guide.
What are Rally Points, and how do I find one?
Rally Points are located throughout the festival grounds and marked with bright yellow signs. You'll find them all around the site, so keep an eye out as you explore the Woods.
Rally Points help guests and staff identify locations during an emergency and provide easy-to-recognize landmarks when describing where help is needed. Familiarize yourself with the nearest Rally Point when you arrive.
